Veterinary Exam Table Configurations: Sink, Knee Space, Storage and Wall-Mount
Four common exam table layouts, what each one is good at, and how to pick the right one for each room in your practice.
Most practices need more than one kind of exam table. A treatment room that handles dental cleanings and wound care has different needs from a consult room or a shelter intake area. Here are the four configurations we see most, with the models we carry in each.
| Configuration | Best for | Model |
|---|---|---|
| Exam and operating table with sink | Treatment rooms, dentals, wound care, post-op cleanup | 1400-VES |
| Knee-space exam table | Seated exams, consults, weigh-ins with optional scale | 1400-VESK |
| Budget exam table with storage | High-volume clinics, shelters, teaching labs | 1400-EVT |
| Wall-mount folding table | Small rooms, intake areas, necropsy suites | USPE 1036-274 |
Exam and operating table with sink

The sink and faucet sit at the table on the side you choose, so flushing, bathing and cleanup happen without moving the patient. A wraparound toe-kick lets staff stand close. Confirm the drain and water supply location before ordering, since the sink side is built in.
Knee-space exam table

An open knee space lets the veterinarian sit or stand close to the patient. It is a good fit for consult-style rooms and for staff who prefer to examine seated. A built-in scale and a choice of left or right orientation are available, along with a stainless or powder-coated base.
Budget exam table with storage

The 1400-EVT has a polished 304 stainless top on a powder-coated galvanized base, four drawers, one deep drawer and a cabinet. Its default size is 44" L × 26" W × 36" H. It keeps cost down for practices outfitting several rooms, and a full stainless base is available for wet areas.
Wall-mount folding table

The 45" × 18.5" stainless top folds flat against the wall and clears the floor when stored. Quick-disconnect pull pins let one person set it up, and a folding leg with a leveling foot carries the working end. Use it where a room has to do double duty.
