*500T high-position overall height is 32 inches; its deck-height specification is 31 inches. Confirm loading and vehicle-restraint fit separately. The powered cot includes a 26.75 × 87.5-inch loading track; the P550 uses a trackless antler-locking arrangement. Their dimensions and accessories are not interchangeable.
Plan the complete removal setup
Match the cot to the vehicle
Measure the loading deck and rear-door opening before choosing a model. Allow for the cot width, tray, restraint hardware and any side rails. A high working position does not mean the cot will load at that height.
Choose textiles by function
A quilted cot cover slips over the cot. A zippered cot pouch provides enclosing access. Pick the size for your specific cot, then check strap routing and rail clearance. Body-bag containment is a separate decision.
Plan the transfer, not just the cot
Consider the route, thresholds, stairs, case weight, available staff and vehicle handoff. A slider assists a supported transfer; it is not a lifting board. Follow the equipment instructions and your team's handling procedures.
Professional handling and safety resources
OSHA recommends using appropriate lifting techniques, additional personnel and mechanical lifting devices when available for handling human remains. See OSHA's guidance for personnel who handle human remains. General OSHA guidance on ergonomic controls explains the role of lifting devices and work planning. These resources are not product approvals or substitutes for equipment-specific instructions.
