Disposable Coveralls for Mortuary and Mass Fatality Work
Disposable coveralls give full-body coverage from neck to ankle, so fluids and contaminated dust stay off scrubs, street clothes and skin. Pick the fabric for the exposure, then pick the style: open or elastic wrists, attached hood, attached boots.

SMS Disposable Coveralls
Three-layer spunbond-meltblown-spunbond fabric that breathes, resists light splash and stops dry particulates. White or blue, 25 per case, sizes S–5XL.
Fluid-Resistant Embalming Coveralls
Polyethylene-coated polypropylene sheds blood, water and diluted embalming fluids instead of soaking through. Non-linting, bright white, 25 per case, sizes S–4XL.
Microporous Cool-Back and Tychem Coveralls
Microporous film on the front and a breathable back panel for heat relief; Tychem when the hazard is chemical.

OSHA and CDC Guidance
- 29 CFR 1910.132: assess hazards and select PPE that protects against them
- 29 CFR 1910.1030: PPE must keep blood and OPIM off skin and clothing
- Hoods and boots or shoe covers where gross contamination is expected
- 29 CFR 1910.1048: impervious clothing for 1%+ formaldehyde liquids
- CDC: disposable gown or coverall, eye protection and N95 when splashing is expected
- Doff carefully and discard as regulated waste when contaminated

Disposable Coverall FAQ
Which disposable coverall is best for embalming?
For light splash and support work, a breathable SMS coverall with elastic wrists and ankles works well. For direct embalming with fluid splash, choose the PE-coated fluid-resistant embalming coverall, and for formaldehyde spill cleanup or heavy contamination step up to DuPont Tychem.
What is the difference between SMS, PE-coated and microporous coveralls?
SMS is a breathable three-layer polypropylene nonwoven for dry particulates and light splash. PE-coated polypropylene adds a film face that sheds water-based liquids. Microporous film blocks liquid and fine particles while letting vapor escape, and the cool-back-panel versions vent heat during long shifts.
Do these coveralls meet OSHA requirements?
OSHA does not certify garments. Under 29 CFR 1910.132 the employer assesses hazards and selects PPE. Under 29 CFR 1910.1030, protective clothing must keep blood and other potentially infectious materials from reaching skin or clothing, with hoods and shoe covers or boots where gross contamination is expected.
How do disposable coveralls fit?
Choose by chest and height and size up if you wear the coverall over scrubs or a suit, or if you will kneel and lift. A coverall that is too tight tears at the crotch and shoulders.
How are coveralls sold?
By the case, one size per case. USPE coveralls are 25 per case. DuPont Tychem 2000 and 4000 coveralls are mostly 12 per case.
Can I mix coveralls with other PPE for free shipping?
Yes. Coveralls, DuPont Tychem suits, embalming coats and jackets, and exam gloves all count toward the $1,500 free PPE shipping threshold to the Lower 48. Crematory safety items ship separately.
