OPEN GUIDE ›1. Refrigerant & system checks — have a qualified, EPA §608-certified technician verify charge, operating pressures, superheat and subcooling against manufacturer documentation; low charge, airflow restriction, or improper settings reduce efficiency and stress components. 2. Doors — inspect gaskets for cracks, tears, and compression loss; clean with mild soap and water; check hinges, latches, closers, anchors, and full perimeter sealing; replace worn hardware promptly — warm air infiltration increases moisture load and forces the system to work harder. 3. Caulking & seams — reseal failing joints around doors, wall penetrations, and exterior seams. 4. Condenser & airflow — clean coils and fan blades, clear debris, maintain manufacturer clearances, keep units from excessive heat sources; restricted condenser airflow is one of the most common causes of reduced performance. 5. Drainage — clean the drain pan, confirm lines flow freely and are adequately sloped, use the 0.75″ NPT external drain connection for overflow conditions, protect freezing-exposed lines with heated trace wire, and maintain outdoor P-traps with a liquid seal. 6. Moisture watch — humidity, door traffic, failed seals, and blocked drains build water faster than internal evaporation can remove it; investigate stagnant water, odor, or early ice immediately. 7. Racks, cots, tables & handling equipment — inspect per the equipment maintenance sheets above on their monthly and quarterly schedules. 8. Controls & documentation — verify setpoints and temperature stability, review alarms, use OEM parts (Parts Town catalog for drain-pan components), and record every service action — documentation supports troubleshooting, warranty review, and long-term equipment care.
⛔ REMOVE FROM SERVICE — MANDATORY PROTOCOL
Any cooler, freezer, rack, rail, lift, cot, or table that fails an inspection or shows damage affecting safe operation must be immediately removed from service, tagged “DO NOT USE — REMOVED FROM SERVICE,” logged, and kept out of service until repaired and re-inspected. The purchasing facility is solely responsible for inspection, removal from service, and operator safety; continued use of damaged or failed equipment constitutes misuse at the facility's own risk, voids applicable warranty coverage under WR-1.0, and falls under the assumption-of-risk terms of our Product Liability, Assumption of Risk & Release and the stop-use conditions in TP-1.0.
✍ MAINTENANCE LOGS & WARRANTY SCOPE — CONDITIONS OF WARRANTY
All warranties are parts only — no labor — unless otherwise specified in writing by American Mortuary Coolers. Any labor services are provided exclusively at AMC's discretion.
All maintenance required by the applicable product documents — the seasonal bulletins on this page, each product's maintenance sheet, and the manufacturer's manuals — must be performed on schedule for each product. Every check must be recorded in a maintenance log entry that is dated and signed by the authorized person who conducted the check, identifying the equipment (model/serial), the items inspected, and the findings and corrective actions taken. Detailed, fully dated and signed maintenance logs must be produced with any warranty claim. Failure to perform the required maintenance, or failure to provide detailed and fully dated maintenance logs, voids the warranty claim under Warranty Policy WR-1.0.
