Third-Party Product Safety, Electrical Equipment & Manufacturer Responsibility Policy

DOCUMENT TP-1.0 • EFFECTIVE JULY 4, 2026 • Incorporated into the Terms of Purchase (TC-1.5)

§1 Third-Party Manufactured Products

MyMortuaryCooler.com sells products manufactured, assembled, imported, distributed, labeled, or supplied by third-party companies — including refrigeration systems, powered lifts, hydraulic equipment, battery-powered cots, chargers, controllers, and electrical accessories. Unless stated in a signed written agreement, MyMortuaryCooler is not the original manufacturer of third-party products and does not control their design, engineering, components, testing, certifications, manuals, labels, factory quality control, production changes, or recall decisions. The manufacturer's manual, warning labels, capacity ratings, and safety instructions control over general website summaries. If any product page, ad, or quote summary conflicts with the manufacturer's safety instructions, follow the manufacturer's safety instructions unless MyMortuaryCooler issues a written product-specific correction.

§2 Electrical, Charging & Fire Safety Responsibility

For products with motors, batteries, chargers, controllers, refrigeration components, lift mechanisms, hydraulic power units, cords, plugs, sensors, or powered controls, Customer is responsible for: safe electrical installation on a compatible, code-compliant power supply; following all charging and battery instructions; periodic inspection; repair by qualified personnel only; and immediate removal from service when any unsafe condition appears. MyMortuaryCooler is not responsible for fire, shock, equipment damage, downtime, or property damage caused by improper wiring, inadequate circuits, power surges, voltage drops, improper grounding, overloaded outlets, extension cords, generator instability, water intrusion, lightning, unauthorized modification, unqualified repair, or facility electrical conditions outside product specifications, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

§3 Stop-Use Conditions — Remove From Service Immediately

Remove powered equipment from service immediately — and do not return it to service until inspected and cleared by qualified personnel — upon any of the following: smoke, sparks, burning odor; hot or melted cord, plug, or discolored outlet; repeated breaker trips; abnormal motor noise; damaged wiring; battery swelling; charger overheating; unexpected movement; hydraulic instability or fluid leak near electrical components; frame damage, loose fasteners, or caster failure; or any prior fire, smoke, flood, electrical event, drop, or collision involving the unit.

§4 No Unauthorized Repair or Modification

Customers must not open, modify, bypass, rewire, splice, replace controls, alter chargers, change plugs, bypass fuses or safety devices, modify refrigeration components, or alter batteries. Unauthorized repair or modification voids warranty coverage and may create fire, shock, burn, movement, or property-damage risk. Refrigeration service must be performed by EPA §608-certified technicians.

§5 Periodic Inspection Guidance

Unless the manufacturer's manual requires a specific schedule, we recommend: before each use — visual, cord/plug, abnormal heat/noise/smell, and movement checks; weekly — casters/brakes, fasteners, charger/battery area, hydraulic leak check; monthly — full operational inspection including controls, lift function, and emergency stop where fitted; quarterly to annually — documented review by qualified personnel, especially for powered lifts, refrigeration, hydraulics, and high-use equipment. Keep written records; see the maintenance schedule guide.

§6 Fire, Smoke, Overheating or Electrical Event Protocol

If a fire, smoke, sparking, burning odor, melted wiring, overheated charger, battery swelling, or repeated electrical abnormality occurs: stop using the product immediately; follow facility emergency procedures; call emergency services if an active hazard exists; do not dispose of the product, charger, cord, battery, or packaging; photograph conditions only if safe; preserve the equipment and scene; record model and serial number; document the outlet, breaker, and any extension-cord or generator setup; preserve maintenance records; and notify MyMortuary Customer Care at 1-888-792-9315. Preserving the equipment and records is essential to any manufacturer, warranty, or insurance review.

§7 Certification Claims & Third-Party Warranties

UL, ETL, CSA, CE, FCC, or other listing and certification claims are published only when supported by manufacturer documentation — refer to the product label, manual, and written quote for product-specific certification status. Third-party products may carry a manufacturer, distributor, or product-specific warranty; coverage varies by product, and unless stated in writing MyMortuaryCooler does not expand the manufacturer's warranty (see Warranty Policy WR-1.0).

§8 General Safety Resources

For general product-stewardship and electrical-safety education: CPSC RecallsSaferProducts.govOSHA electrical general requirements. These are educational resources only — no MyMortuaryCooler product is approved, certified, or endorsed by CPSC, OSHA, NFPA, or any listing body unless product-specific documentation states that exact claim.
