Estimated Shipping Charges Policy

Shipping & Freight • Binding Upon Purchase

All Shipping Charges Are Estimated

Freight rates for commercial mortuary and pathology equipment change daily with the current economy. This policy explains exactly how estimated shipping charges work on every order from American Mortuary Coolers and our family of brands — AMC, USPE, AME, TITAN, MOBI, and FS1 — so there are no surprises at ship time.

Document SC-1.0 • Effective July 3, 2026 • Incorporated into the Terms of Purchase, Return & Chargeback Policy (current posted version)

The Policy

All shipping charges are estimated and prepaid at the time of order. Freight charges rise daily with the current economy. Any freight charge change between order placement and shipment will be applied to the order and must be paid in full prior to shipping.

If the additional charges are substantial, we will contact you in advance. We will generate the updated charges and send you a secure payment link by email. Once the balance is paid, your products ship.

How It Works, Step by Step

  1. You place your order. Shipping is estimated at current freight rates and prepaid with your purchase.
  2. We book your freight. If carrier rates have moved since your order date, the difference is calculated against your order.
  3. We notify you. For any substantial change, our team contacts you in advance before anything moves.
  4. You pay by secure email link. We generate the updated charge and email you a payment link.
  5. Your equipment ships. Once the freight balance is paid in full, your order is released to the carrier.

Important Notes

Orders will not ship with an outstanding freight balance. Freight adjustments are carrier-driven cost changes, not fees added by AMC — we pass them through at cost. Accessorial services (liftgate, residential delivery, limited access, inside delivery, re-delivery) not included in the original estimate are also the purchaser's responsibility. Freight adjustments are non-disputable per §5 of the Terms of Purchase, Return & Chargeback Policy when disclosed under this policy. Refusing a shipment does not cancel your order or reverse these charges — see the Refused Delivery Policy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my shipping charge an estimate?

LTL freight rates for oversized commercial equipment fluctuate daily based on fuel, lane capacity, and carrier pricing. We quote at current rates and reconcile at booking.

Will I be told before paying more?

Yes. For any substantial freight change we contact you in advance, and every adjustment is invoiced through a secure email payment link before your order ships.

What happens if I don't pay the freight adjustment?

Your order is held and will not be released to the carrier until the freight balance is paid in full.

Can I arrange my own freight?

Ask us at 1-888-792-9315 — customer-arranged freight may be available on certain orders, subject to our dock scheduling and BOL requirements.

Panel material — Class 1 polyurethane foam

Walk-in cooler panels and upright cooler cabinet skins are constructed of Class 1 polyurethane foam insulation, injected under pressure into formed molds during manufacturing. Residual foam flash, minor surface variation, or trace foam residue on panel edges and surfaces is a normal characteristic of this manufacturing process — not a defect. Foam residue does not merit discounting, return, refund, or credit of any kind.

Inspect before you sign — 30-minute inspection window

You have up to 30 minutes from carrier arrival to thoroughly inspect every panel, crate, unit, and box before signing any delivery receipt or Bill of Lading. Check all surfaces, edges, corners, and refrigeration components while the driver is present. This is your only opportunity to document concerns with the carrier present. Acceptance at delivery is the single most critical step in the delivery process.

By signing the delivery receipt or Bill of Lading — or by accepting delivery in any form — you: (1) accept the shipment in the condition noted on the signed paperwork; (2) release the carrier and American Mortuary Coolers from all liability for any condition, damage, or deficiency that could have been identified during your inspection window; and (3) enter into a binding agreement that goods were received as stated on the signed documentation. Your signature on any shipping paperwork constitutes acceptance of these terms. There are no exceptions once paperwork is signed.
