Warranty Disclaimer & Refrigerant Safety Notice – American Mortuary Coolers
Warranty Disclaimer & Refrigerant Safety Notice
(Applies to All Self-Contained and Remote Two-Piece Refrigeration Systems)
American Mortuary Coolers provides select models with self-contained plug-and-play refrigeration systems and remote two-piece systems. These systems are engineered for reliability when installed and operated under proper conditions. The following disclaimers apply to all such units. Failure to adhere to these requirements will immediately void the manufacturer’s warranty.
Critical Electrical Requirements – Read Before Use
⚠️ Urgent: Self-contained refrigeration systems must be plugged directly into a wall outlet that is on its own dedicated circuit breaker and protected by a surge suppressor.
-
Shared circuits are not allowed. Running additional equipment on the same breaker can cause electrical overload, malfunction, or fire hazards.
-
Surge protection is mandatory. Power fluctuations and surges damage sensitive components and are not covered by warranty.
-
Plug styles may vary. Depending on configuration and evolving energy standards, plug connections may be NEMA 5-20R, 6-15R, or equivalent. Always confirm proper match to a dedicated receptacle.
Ambient Temperature & Humidity Requirements
-
All American Mortuary Cooler refrigeration systems (self-contained and remote two-piece) are designed and warrantied for operation in standard 80°F ambient conditions including Temperature-Humidity Index (THI).
-
Customer Responsibility: It is the sole responsibility of the end user to verify and maintain that the cooler installation space does not exceed the specified 80°F THI operating limit.
-
Warranty Condition: If the installation space at any time exceeds 80°F THI (temperature and humidity combined), the warranty is void, and no recourse will exist.
-
Excess heat or humidity causes excessive compressor run-time, oil breakdown, electronic malfunctions, and premature failure.
Extension Cord Use is Strictly Prohibited
Self-contained refrigeration systems must be connected directly to the designated receptacle.
Using an extension cord is:
-
Unsafe: Creates fire and electrical shock hazards.
-
Harmful: Causes voltage drop, compressor strain, and electronic malfunctions.
-
Prohibited: Any use of an extension cord will immediately void the warranty.
New Refrigerants Warning – Effective 2025
WARNING: Important Safety Information Regarding New Refrigerants (A2L / A2 / A3 Classes)
-
Defrosting & Cleaning
-
Do not use any means to accelerate defrosting or cleaning other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
-
Do not pierce or burn refrigerant lines.
-
-
Storage Requirements
-
Appliances must not be stored in rooms with continuously operating ignition sources (open flames, gas appliances, space heaters, etc.).
-
-
Refrigerant Characteristics
-
Refrigerants may not contain odor.
-
A2L class refrigerants (mildly flammable, low toxicity) are now common under 2025 EPA AIM Act rules.
-
A3 refrigerants (higher flammability) carry stricter safety codes.
-
-
Code Compliance
-
Installation and service must comply with ASHRAE 15, EPA AIM Act 2025 refrigerant regulations, and any new 2026 updates as they come into effect.
-
Only trained and certified technicians may handle refrigerants and related components.
-
