What does a crematory thermocouple do?
A thermocouple measures primary and secondary chamber temperature and sends the reading to the cremator controller, which cycles the burners to hold temperature and meet emissions limits. A complete assembly has an insert (element), a ceramic protection tube and a head.
Type K thermocouples, inserts and ceramic protection tubes in 12, 18 and 24 inch lengths, plus an 18 inch thermocouple for Crawford cremators. Replace a failed sensor quickly and keep chamber readings accurate.

Can I replace only the thermocouple insert?
Yes. If the ceramic protection tube is intact, replace just the insert in the same length.
How do I choose thermocouple length?
Measure the existing probe from the mounting head to the tip. Most cremators use 12, 18 or 24 inch probes; match the length so the tip sits at the same depth in the chamber.
