Most facilities already run some form of both tracking and monitoring, just not connected to each other. A whiteboard or paper log answers "which cooler is case #42 in." A cooler alarm system like HALO Monitoring answers "was Cooler 2 within range last night." Today those are two separate records, checked by two different people, at two different times.

HALO ID is being designed to close that gap by treating identity and environment as one connected record rather than two separate systems that happen to describe the same room.

What a connected record is designed to show

  • Identity record — who the case is, and every custody event from first call to final release
  • Exact cooler position — facility, cooler, rack, and tray, not just "which cooler"
  • Entry and exit times — when the case entered and left refrigeration
  • Temperature history — the cooler's logged temperature for the exact window the case was stored there
  • Door and power events — whether a door was left open or power was interrupted while the case was present
  • Alert association — whether any HALO Monitoring alert applies to that specific case's storage window
  • Case-specific environmental history — a single exportable record instead of cross-referencing two logs by hand

Why this matters more than either system alone

A tracking log without environmental data can tell you where a case was, but not whether the cooler was actually holding temperature while it was there. A cooler monitoring log without case data can tell you a door was open for eleven minutes at 2 a.m., but not which cases were affected. Connecting the two is what turns "we have logs" into "we can answer a specific question about a specific case in seconds."

How this fits the HALO platform

HALO ID follows the case. HALO Monitoring watches the conditions surrounding the case. Both are part of the same HALO platform from American Mortuary Coolers, built around the same walk-in and upright mortuary coolers your facility already runs.
