Why Your Mortuary Cooler Warranty Depends on Proper Installation
Two warranties cover an AMC cooler: our 10-year structural warranty on the insulated cabinet, and the manufacturer's warranty on the Heatcraft packaged refrigeration system (two years from installation or 30 months from shipment, with an optional three-year extended compressor warranty). The second one has conditions — and installation is where warranties are won or lost.
What keeps the warranty intact
- Voltage in tolerance: single phase within +10%/−5% of nameplate; phase imbalance under 2% on three-phase systems.
- Control and safety circuits connected exactly per the wiring diagram.
- Factory wiring untouched — no changes without written factory approval.
- Licensed installation: installation and maintenance by a licensed contractor; improper installation can damage the unit and will void the warranty.
What isn't a warranty claim
Damage, performance issues, or service calls resulting from improper drainage, site conditions, unlevel installation, clogged drain lines, missing condensate pumps, or failure to follow the installation manual are not product defects and are not covered as warranty claims. That's why the drainage requirement is published on every upright cooler product page before purchase.
Protect yourself in one step
Read the manual before startup. Every current release, the startup checklist, and the condensate drainage notice live on the Packaged Refrigeration Manuals & Startup Guide — bookmark it and hand it to your installer.
