Look for double-pan, sound-deadened doors — two stainless pans with a deadening core so doors close with a solid, quiet action instead of an oil-can clang. Toe Kicks vs Leveling Legs

Base cabinets meet the floor one of two ways. A recessed toe kick (closed base) gives a flush, monolithic look and is typically sealed to the floor — appropriate where casework is coved into the floor finish. Leveling legs — stainless bullet feet or flanged legs, usually adjustable about 6 inches — raise the cabinet body off the slab so hose water and mop water pass beneath, the preferred detail in autopsy suites and any hose-washdown room, and consistent with NSF-style cleanability principles. Legs also absorb out-of-level slabs, which are the rule rather than the exception in renovation work.
