Casket Lifts

Casket lifts for funeral homes and crematories: portable scissor lifts, battery body and casket lifts, gantry-style strap lifters and casket jacks.

Casket Lifts

A casket lift takes the weight off your staff every time a casket or body moves between a church truck, a table, a cooler tier, a vehicle deck or a retort. Our casket lifts are mobile. They roll to the work and need no construction, no shaftway and no inspection of a building installation. That makes them the practical choice for most funeral homes and crematories.

Types of casket lifts

Scissor casket lifts

A flat deck rises on a scissor frame, either manual hydraulic or battery powered. Choose this to transfer between surfaces at different heights: cot to table, rack to deck, deck to retort.

Gantry-style strap lifters

A rolling boom frame lifts the casket or body on wide straps, the way an overhead gantry would, but it moves through standard doorways. Our 1,000 lb lifter raises its boom from 31" to 72".

Mobile casket lift or installed lift?

An installed casket lift is a vertical conveyor built into a building to move caskets between floors. It needs a shaftway or enclosure, dedicated power, and permits. A mobile casket lift does the same lifting work wherever the casket is, on any single floor, with no construction. If your building has a basement prep room and a ground-floor chapel, you may need both. For everything that happens on one level, a mobile lift is the faster and far less costly answer.

  • Measure the lowest and highest surfaces you transfer between
  • Confirm the heaviest casket or case you handle
  • Check door widths and turning space on the route
  • Choose manual hydraulic for no charging, or battery for speed
  • Add a scale if you weigh cases for cremation
  • Plan where the lift is stored and charged

Storage capacity is set by the rack and tray system inside the cooler, and safe handling depends on the lift that serves it. Frequently asked questions

What is a casket lift?

A casket lift raises, lowers or carries a casket so staff do not lift it by hand. Mobile casket lifts roll to the work; installed casket lifts move caskets between building floors.

How much weight can a casket lift handle?

Our scissor lifts and strap lifter are rated at 1,000 lb or more, the Body Casket Lift XL at 900 lb, the covered lift at 800 lb and the casket jacks at 600 lb.

Do you sell gantry lifts?

Our 1,000 lb Casket & Body Lifter is a mobile, gantry-style strap lifter. It lifts on four straps from a boom that raises from 31 to 72 inches, and it rolls on nine 4-inch casters through standard doors.

Can a casket lift load a crematory?

Yes. Scissor lifts with roller tops are commonly used to charge a retort. Match the lift's height range to your retort door height.

Is financing available?

Financing is available through Shop Pay, including 0% offers with approved credit.
