Required Air Clearance & Owner Maintenance — Policy VC-1.1
Standard on all AMC drop-in refrigeration systems. These are conditions of warranty coverage, not recommendations.
- 1″–1.5″ minimum air gap around the entire cabinet — all sides and rear, maintained permanently.
- 16″ minimum unobstructed clearance above and around the compressor / condensing unit for airflow, heat rejection, and service access.
- No shelving, cabinetry, soffits, dropped ceilings, boxed enclosures, adjacent equipment, or stored goods may encroach on either envelope.
Owner Maintenance Responsibility
The customer is responsible for ongoing maintenance of the compressor and refrigeration system, including annual professional service as needed — coil cleaning, drain-line clearing, gasket inspection, and verification of refrigerant charge and temperature performance. Routine maintenance, consumables, labor, and service calls are not warranty items.

Important — Read Before Startup: 2026 Packaged Refrigeration System
Due to the changing refrigerant models under new Freon regulations and updated guidelines, it is critical that you completely read all startup instructions before using your packaged refrigeration system. Please be sure you understand your startup settings and the proper overflow and humidity drainage ports, which require hose adapters.
Condensation Drain Requirement
All 2026 Heatcraft compressors require a drain hose attached to the drain port for condensation, to maximize energy efficiency. Connect the supplied drain line to the drain port before startup.
External Drain Connection
In high-humidity environments or during continuous heavy run-times, the unit may experience overflow. To prevent this, the indoor unit is equipped with a 3/4″ NPT external drain connection that can be routed to an external drain line or a field-supplied condensate pump.
Internal Re-Evaporation
Indoor PRO³ models include a hot-gas re-evaporation pan beneath the compressor, which uses hot refrigerant gas to evaporate condensation naturally during normal operation.
2026 and Forward — Heatcraft PRO³
2026 and later packaged Heatcraft PRO³ systems include many new features made possible by an extremely high-efficiency process. Reviewing the startup documentation ensures these systems perform as designed.

Sizing, weight ratings & cot compatibility
The 3-Body Standard Upright is the entry tier at 3-body capacity, built for small-to-mid funeral homes, single-physician coroner offices, hospital outpatient morgues, and crematory holding rooms. For bariatric clearance at the same capacity, see the 3-Body Extra Wide or side-loading 3-Body Extra-Wide Side-Load. Step down to the 2-Body Standard Width. Step up to the 6-Body Dual-Door.
Weight per tier: rated at 600 lbs maximum per storage tier, covering the full standard-width case envelope including case weight, tray, and cot board. For recurring bariatric cases exceeding 500 lbs, see the 3 Body Extra Wide (rated 850 lbs per tier).

What is the gross ship weight?
1,500 lbs gross. Liftgate delivery is included. Freight ships from Johnson City, Tennessee via common carrier. Most destinations receive in 3–7 business days from shipment.
How much clearance does it need around it?

How does this compare to the extra-wide 3-body coolers?
Standard width fits the standard case envelope. The extra-wide variants ship with bariatric cabinet clearance and an 850 lb per tier rating.
How do I pick door hinge?
Match the swing to your prep-room flow, then tell us your preference — Left, Right, or Either — in the order notes at checkout, or call 1-888-792-9315 after ordering. There is no charge for door handing. "Either" lets the factory ship the standard-default hinge if you don't have a fixed plumbing or workflow constraint.
