University anatomy programs and body donation programs need cadaver transport equipment at multiple stages of the donor workflow: intake removal, in-facility transfer, lab-to-cooler movement, and table-height positioning for dissection. This post covers each stage and the right AMC equipment for each.

Stage 1: Donor Intake — Mortuary Cots

Donor cadaver transport begins with removal from the place of death or hospital. AMC first-call mortuary cots are the standard for this stage:

See: Cadaver Transport Equipment Hub.

Stage 2: In-Facility Movement — Cadaver Stretcher Carts

Once a donor arrives at the anatomy facility, in-facility movement from loading dock to cooler storage requires a flat-surface transport cart sized for standard doorway clearance. The Cadaver Stretcher Cart 1038-1CST is the standard anatomy lab configuration.

Stage 3: Public-Area Transport — Covered Cadaver Carriers

Movement through public corridors, elevators, and building common spaces requires a covered cadaver carrier for dignity and discretion. AMC offers two covered carrier options:

See: Cadaver Carts & Cadaver Carriers Hub.

Stage 4: Table Transfer — Autopsy Trolleys

For ME offices and pathology departments within the same anatomy facility, the Hydraulic Autopsy Trolley with Removable Top allows body transfer at autopsy table height without manual lifting. The removable top serves as both a transport surface and a modular table extension.
