Options
- Refrigeration Upsize: Standard is sized for a climate-controlled indoor room. Choose Level 1, 2 or 3 Extreme for warmer rooms (table below).
- Door Hinge: left-hand or right-hand. Your choice applies to all doors. No charge.
- Casters: extra heavy-duty casters, +$495.
- Body trays and lifts: sold separately; add them below.
Standard design features
- Self-contained condensing unit. The compressor, condenser and evaporator come as one factory-packaged unit mounted on the cabinet, so no refrigeration lines are run on site.
- Digital thermometer and temperature controller. A digital display shows the box temperature at a glance, and the controller holds the setpoint you choose for body holding.
Door seal and refrigeration
- Magnetic gasketed door seal. Each chamber door closes against a magnetic gasket that seals the whole door edge, which keeps cold air in and holds 34–40°F after the door is opened.
- Energy-compliant refrigeration. The self-contained refrigeration system uses A2L refrigerant and meets current DOE/EPA efficiency rules.

Delivery and installation
- Ships by freight as an unassembled panel cabinet for on-site assembly. Freight is shown at checkout.
- Unloading equipment and site access are the customer’s responsibility under Freight Carriers & Delivery Terms (FC-1.0). Inspect every crate before signing, per the Freight Damage, Inspection & Refusal Policy.
- Assisted panel installation may be offered as a courtesy within the shipping charge, per AP-1.0. Turnkey delivery and installation is not included; it is available by written quote under TK-1.0.

Trays, lifts and add-ons
- Body trays are not included. The chambers are sized for 27″ trays. Add 23″, 27″ or 30″ stainless steel body trays on this page, up to one per chamber.
- Lifts: the Low Profile Mortuary Lift lowers to 13″ for the bottom chamber. Check the lowest and highest platform heights of any lift against every tray before ordering.
- Extra heavy-duty casters: +$495, selected above.
- Turnkey delivery and installation: not included. Inside delivery, rigging, panel assembly and refrigeration start-up are available by written quote under TK-1.0. Ask before you order.

Model 1070-2BVU is our base model. We build vault coolers to any specification: chamber count and layout, bariatric chambers, opening and tray sizes, hinge side, refrigeration capacity and voltage, and a footprint to fit an existing room. Every custom build is drawn for sign-off before fabrication.

We return a formal quote with the data sheet and sign-off drawing for your bid file. Purchase terms
Vault coolers are final sale. Vault orders cannot be cancelled under any circumstances once placed.
Each vault is built to order from the signed sign-off drawing and is non-returnable once ordered. The exception terms for other coolers do not apply to vaults. What temperature does a vault morgue cooler hold?
This 2-body vault cooler holds 34–40°F for short-term body holding. Long-term holds and unidentified cases are usually moved to a mortuary freezer. See mortuary cooler vs. morgue freezer.
Are body trays included?
Slide-out tray rails are included in every chamber. Body trays are sold separately in 23″, 27″ and 30″ widths, and you can add as many as you need in any mix. Shop body trays and boards.
What room conditions does the vault cooler need?
Standard refrigeration is sized for a climate-controlled indoor room at 65–75°F with normal door use. Choose Level 1, 2 or 3 Extreme refrigeration for rooms that reach 80°F, 90°F or 100°F, or that see heavy door traffic. Install indoors only, and keep the condensing unit’s intake and discharge clear.
Vault cooler or walk-in: which fits a hospital morgue layout?

How many chambers does a hospital morgue need?
Plan from peak census and local policy. Published health-facility guidelines range from about 1 refrigerated space per 25 beds to 4 per 100 beds, plus dedicated bariatric and isolation chambers. Use the capacity planning guide to size the bank.
