Frequently asked questions
Are the trays included?
No. Trays are separate quote lines unless the accepted quotation expressly includes them. Specify tray quantity, outside dimensions and drainage needs.
What is the load capacity?
A rating has not been verified for this USPE configuration. Submit the required load per tier and request written confirmation of the complete rack, tray and lift system.
Can I use the rack inside a refrigerated room?
Include the room temperature, door clearances, floor conditions and cleaning protocol. Suitability and any anchorage or movement restrictions require configuration-specific review.
Does the photograph show every variant?
No. The photograph is the reference rack. Roller, caster and custom-size selections are quote requests and may require a different approved drawing.

Custom configurations and coordinated RFQs
Custom configurations are available across our equipment and rack lines. Request custom overall dimensions, tray widths, tier count or spacing, bay count, roller arrangement, casters or leveling feet, work surfaces, drainage, utilities and room integration as applicable. Your written quote and approved drawings define the build, materials, load rating and confirmed compatibility; selecting an option is not engineering approval.
Stainless tray and matching rack selections
| Tray selection | Outside tray dimensions | Tray gauge / published load | Rack request |
|---|---|---|---|
| 23-inch width | 78 L × 23 W × 2.75 H inches | 18 gauge / 300 lb | Rack sized and rated for this exact tray; final drawing required |
| 27-inch width | 78 L × 27 W × 2.75 H inches | 16 gauge / 400 lb | Rack sized and rated for this exact tray; final drawing required |
| 30-inch width | 78 L × 30 W × 2.75 H inches | 14 gauge / 500 lb | Rack sized and rated for this exact tray; final drawing required |
Fit approval is required, not implied by nominal width. The quotation must identify the exact tray outside dimensions, usable rack opening, rail/roller support spacing, tray stops and latch engagement, approved tray overhang, tier spacing, loaded transfer height, and per-tier and total rack ratings including tray weight. Confirm cooler doorway, aisle, turning and lift clearances on the approval drawing. A wider tray requires a correctly widened rack, not placement in a narrower standard rack. Rack photos illustrate the equipment format, not every selected width.

Plan this equipment in the room
Storage capacity alone does not determine whether a rack fits the room or works with a lift. The loading direction controls the approach, while each tier has a transfer height and clearance requirement. Plan the rack, tray, support or roller arrangement and handling equipment together, with documented confirmation of the final system ratings.
Check before requesting the final configuration
- Required positions, tier count, loading direction and usable room dimensions.
- Tray outside dimensions: 78 × 23, 78 × 27 or 78 × 30 inches, each 2.75 inches high.
- Every tier transfer height, lift travel, approach clearance and tray retention.
- Casters or leveling feet, supported and moving loads, final system rating and drawings.

Read the applicable written warranty information. Ask a documentation question and include the product name and selected configuration.
Complete the rack and handling review
Compare rack spacing and load limits with the board or tray dimensions, support arrangement and receiving lift. Related categories are a planning route, not a claim that every listed item fits every rack.
Mortuary rack storage, arranged around your loading route
Build cadaver storage capacity around the usable height, aisle and transfer route. Side-, end- and multi-directional loading solve different access problems; tier count alone does not establish tray fit or lift access. A portable mortuary rack needs the specified caster base, while stationary configurations use their stated feet or supports.
Compare 2-, 3-, 4- and 5-tier rack layouts
Side-loading racks: compare the 2-tier, 3-tier, 4-tier 4TSL and 5-tier side-loading models.
End-loading racks: review the 2-tier end-load configuration, 3-tier, 4-tier 4TEL and 5-tier end-loading racks.
For access from more than one direction, compare 2-tier, 3-tier, 4-tier and 5-tier multi-directional racks.
Review 2-tier side-or-end loading, the USPE 2–5 tier side-load range and USPE end-load range for another layout. Cantilever racks offer support-arm storage rather than rolling tiers.
Choose stainless trays or the correct storage board
Compare the 23-inch stainless tray, 27-inch tray and 30-inch tray by overall size, gauge and rated load. Check support spacing, underside clearance, handholds and retaining arrangements against the rack. A wider tray is not automatically approved for the same tier.
For board storage, review the HD plastic body board, HDPE rack storage board and 29-inch oversized board. The rubber-edge laminated board and 78 × 24-inch laminated board provide other storage-surface choices. Select the board for the documented support arrangement, not simply its width.
Board packs and additional stainless tray choices
HD board packs: 5 boards, 6 boards, 48 boards or 74 boards. Oversized board packs are listed as 12 boards and 24 boards. Laminated boards are also available in sets of 3 and sets of 5.
Compare the stainless storage tray, stainless body tray range, low-profile tray pair and 3-pack. Additional package listings include five 23-inch trays and six stainless trays. Confirm each listing's included quantity and dimensions.
Compare the lift models before pairing equipment
Start with the H1000 manual hydraulic lift, G1 powered multi-directional lift or 1030-LPL low-profile powered lift. Compare the lowest and highest transfer surfaces with every intended tier; the low-profile name does not establish bottom-tier access.
Other platform choices include the aluminum-alloy powered lift, stainless mortuary lift trolley, USPE cadaver lift trolley, USPE cadaver transport scissor lift, covered cadaver lift and LowLoad powered lift listing. Each has its own deck, load and height requirements.
Body and casket handling equipment
Review the heavy-duty body and casket lifter, TITAN Power Body & Casket Lift XL, casket jack set and lift straps for their intended handling tasks. These are not automatic substitutes for a tray-supporting rack lift.
Frame finish, wheels and the written equipment scope
Powder-coated rack frames and their trays, rollers or boards have separate material specifications. A stainless tray does not make a steel rack frame stainless. Coating colors and cosmetic details can change as products are improved; use the selected model's stated construction and accepted order for the required finish.
For a new facility or phased replacement, list the tier count, side or end access, stationary or caster base, tray or board quantities, cooler opening and intended lift. Identify existing equipment so support surfaces and transfer heights can be checked together. Request country-of-origin documents and the applicable written warranty for the models being ordered.

Roller-equipped cadaver handling and storage
Plan the route from mortuary lift to roller storage rack and cooler as a coordinated equipment selection. Compatible rolling surfaces can let a supported tray move between components without being lifted clear of its support. That benefit depends on the selected equipment, not simply on both products having rollers.
Compare the actual rolling-surface heights, tray underside, usable width, roller or ball-transfer spacing, loading direction and retaining stops at both ends of the transfer. Positioning, brake use and the release or engagement of stops must follow each model's instructions. Keep the load supported throughout the transfer, and determine staffing from the task, load and facility procedure rather than assume one-person operation.
Choose a low-profile powered lift for the required lower transfer points, or review the G1 multi-directional lift and stainless medical lift trolley for other loading requirements. Match trays and boards individually; a board that fits one platform is not automatically approved for a rolling tray system.
Request a coordinated lift, roller-rack and tray quote with the lowest and highest transfer points, tray dimensions, loads and existing equipment drawings. This roller-transfer guidance does not describe a cantilever support-arm rack.
