Choosing an Embalming Station: Sinks, Utilities & Table Fit
An embalming station is a configured work area that supports selected preparation-room functions such as rinsing, drainage, aspiration, utility access and storage. Some systems combine these functions in a cabinet or sink station; others use separate water-control equipment. The correct choice depends on your actual workflow and room connections, not a generic checklist that every product is assumed to meet.
Embalming stations and water-control systems: choose the functions you need
An embalming station brings selected sink, rinse, aspiration, utility or storage functions into the preparation-room workflow. A separate water-control unit is not a complete sink station, and neither item automatically includes the embalming table. Compare the exact equipment and its required building connections.
Start with the basin, mounting and approach
Identify the working approach, basin location and required wall or floor support before choosing the cabinet. Wall-mounted stations need a suitable support and rough-in plan. A center-basin or double-basin configuration must be specifically offered for the selected model; those words are not interchangeable with left- and right-hand room layouts.
Review the selected material and fittings
The TITAN 1036-ES embalming sink station lists a 14-gauge 304 stainless cabinet. Do not assume every sink or station has that same gauge, basin geometry or finish. Compare the exact configuration’s faucet, spray hose, aspirator, backflow protection, eyewash, receptacle and storage before ordering.
Separate utilities from included installation work
Have the appropriate trades review the model’s actual water supply, drainage, electrical, wall support and any ventilation connections. Required building pressure, flow, circuit and rough-in dimensions must come from that exact model’s documentation or written project review. A catalog product price is not a complete installed-project price.
Coordinate the table and station
Confirm the table’s working height, drain location, hose routing and approach clearance against the station. The AME-MHFET folding table and standard hydraulic table use different adjustment mechanisms. Packages specify their own table and station inclusions; visible accessories are not automatically included.
Water-control unit or full station?
The AME 1036-9WCU water-control unit has its own product and utility requirements. Review the current configuration and request clarification before treating it as a substitute for a sink, flushing station or ventilated workstation.

A practical station selection sequence
- List the work: identify which sink, rinse, aspiration, instrument and storage functions your facility needs.
- Measure the room: record the available wall span, working approach, table movement, door access and service clearance.
- Choose the basin arrangement: specify a center, side or double basin only where the actual model offers it.
- Review the utilities: ask your trades to verify the model’s documented supply, drain, electrical, mounting and ventilation requirements.
- Match the table: confirm working-height range, drain position and the space for transferring and positioning the table.
- Confirm the complete quote: name the model, selected fittings, accessories, installation responsibilities, freight and warranty scope.

Is a water-control unit the same as an embalming sink station?
No. A water-control unit provides its listed control functions; it does not automatically supply a basin, cabinet, table or all the features of a complete station. Compare the exact included equipment.
Can a standard table drain be assumed compatible with every station?
No. Verify the table drain location, hose interface, station connection and room clearance for the chosen pairing. Product-family names alone do not establish compatibility.
Are all fittings and installation included?
No. The model’s selected configuration and formal quote define what is supplied. Building rough-in, connections and installation work require their own scope review.
